The dictionary defines the soul as: the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal. Genesis 2:7 states: And the LORD GOD formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living soul. So, with that said, now we know that the soul is a living thing because it comprises the breath of life from God himself. And every living thing needs food for nourishment to live. Our spiritual nourishment, soul food is the key of life, it’s the Word of GOD.

Soul food is the key of life in the Word of God. In John 1:1 it says: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with GOD, and the Word was GOD. So, in this scripture, it is making reference to Jesus being the Word. He is also The Bread of Life. Matthew 4:4 reads: “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of GOD.
Jesus said, I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life. So if Jesus is the Word and He is the Life then He is also the Way to salvation and everlasting life. Which is why soul food is the key of life. Every word in the Bible was inspired by GOD. It was written by his disciples and prophets. Therefore, the Bible, which is the Word of GOD, is our soul food.
This is what is essentially necessary to feed our souls on a daily basis. That’s why the Word is what we call our daily bread; It is The bread of life. The Word is the Holy Bible. Our instruction for salvation and eternal life with GOD. It is our (GPS) God’s plan of salvation. This is our road map if you will, to get back to heaven. Heaven is our real home. We are just sojourners, passing through this land called earth.

Since the beginning there has been a battle. The battle between good and evil. It is the battle to win our souls. GOD wants to win our souls for our own good, so that we may have life everlasting with Him. He gave us free will for us to choose who we are going to live for and who we will serve. It is his will for us to serve him as our creator, Lord, Redeemer and Savior. That is after all what we were created for, His glory. And being that he is the creator of all things including human life, then he has the power to make everything happen according to his will.
However, because he gave us the power of free will, he left the decision to us. Therefore, when we pray we ask the Father for his will to be done not ours. The devil wants to win our souls to destroy us so that we turn away from GOD. He will do anything and everything in his power to cause us to turn away from our Lord. But he cannot make us do anything unless we allow him.
So, in order for him to enter into our spirit is for him to get into our minds. He does this through media, songs, movies, television, etc. These are just a few but he uses so many devices to slip into our minds in order to win our souls. This is where the battle between good and evil begins. And if we allow the devil to win our souls – we will have everlasting life. However, it will not be in heaven with GOD, but in the eternal fires of hell.
We Must Be Strong and Fight the Good Fight, This is the Reason Why Soul Food is the Key of Life
That’s why we have to be strong and fight against evil and the darkness. And we do this with the power of the Holy Spirit, by reading the Word and feeding our souls with GOD’s word on a daily basis. All the while having faith in GOD and believing in his word. Because soul food is the key of life, Everlasting life with our heavenly Father. He said that he is always with us and he will never forsake us.
Just call out to him and he will answer. Call on the name of our Lord Jesus. There is power in the holy and mighty name of JESUS. We do this through prayer. Prayer is the way we connect and communicate with GOD. As you may have heard many people say: “prayer changes things.” Well, it really does!!! We can pray anywhere. It doesn’t have to be out loud. We can pray in our mind. God can hear us by our voice as well as our thoughts. I he can hear the blood of Abel cry out to him, why can’t he hear us (his children) speak to him through our minds.
Free Will Explained…
When GOD created man he gave him free will. That means he gave him full control to think for himself and to choose for himself. Free will is the most powerful thing that GOD gave us other than love.
Just think about it this way. When you were back in high-school you may have had a crush on one or more people. You wanted them to like you because you liked them. You may have even thought at one time or another, “If I could just put a spell on them to make them like me that would be great.” But will it really? We don’t really want someone to like us or to even love us because they are under a spell.
Jesus is Love…
Let’s move over to the case of love and even true and unconditional love. If you truly love someone, then you want them to reciprocate the same love you have for them. And the most beautiful thing is when someone reciprocates your love, not because they are under a spell but because they genuinely love you and are in love with you. That’s what makes it all the more special and meaningful. This is the way GOD feels also. He wants us to love him on our own accord.
Not because he says so, but because we feel it in our hearts. The more we love him the closer he draws near to us. He is our heavenly Father and we are his children, and he loves us unconditionally. So much so that he gave his only begotten Son to die for us on the cross. And whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

To be more specific in 1 Peter 2:9 it states: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Amen.
There Are So Many Negative Things We Allow into Our Souls That We Are Totally Unaware of That We See or Hear in Different Mediums
Here are just a few:
- Board games – Certain board games like the Ouija board, The Magic Eight Ball, and others etc. These open the door to witchcraft and evil spirits to enter our bodies and attack our souls. I personally came in contact with someone who shared his negative and very dark experience from messing around with this.
- Books – The books we read and think there are no consequences as a result, such as witchcraft, evil diety’s, violent murders, murder mysteries, rape and molestation, uncontrollable substances, dark series books like “Harry Potter,” “The Vampire Diaries,“ etc. There are so many others that are so damaging to our souls.
- Movies – There are a slew of movies that although seem very entertaining, are very detrimental to our souls. I myself, have stopped watching this negatively impactful and distasteful material.
- Music – Don’t get me started. Did you know that these evil beings take the master of the records and go into a secluded room and perform evil rituals over the music praying for the destruction of the souls of all who listen to it?
- Radio – This is the medium they use to spread all of the destruction worldwide – the airways.
- Television – Another highly used medium to spread the devils venom of evil deeds, affecting all who are willing to watch and listen.
- Video Games – Are very detrimental and damaging to our souls. They depict so much violence that spills over into the ones who continually watch them and some who later act them out.
So all those things you may have heard your mom or grandma say not to watch or mess with, was actually true. They may not have been able to explain to you why – but they just knew in their spirit that it was not good for us.

When I was younger, I enjoyed going to the movies. In my teenage years, I would usually go with my brothers and sisters. There were six of us. However, my younger brother and sister were too young. So, I would usually go with my older sister and two older brothers. Well, my older brothers and sister liked to watch horror films like: Amityville Horror, Aliens, Freddie Krueger’s Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Scream etc. and so on.
Well, these films were very frightening back in the day. And I am sure they have more today that are even more frightening. These types of movies mess with your mind and instill fear inside of you. They also create a portal for evil spirits to enter and create more damage to your soul. The Bible teaches us that fear is of the devil. And this is one of his cleverly deceitful tactics to control us, through our minds.
All Negative Effects
There are so many movies that are full of violence, like murders, rape, sex trafficking, abuse of almost everything, drugs, alcohol, and so on. It seems the more bloody and gory, the better they like it. Then you have the music in the movies that negatively affect the soul. They are so crafty with the music; they particularly choose a certain sound that produces the intentional affect within our minds, our hearts. These are the types of things we are up against and are not even aware of.
When we watch these types of movies, we are unconsciously downloading fear into our subconscious minds which feeds into our souls. This is negativity and full of darkness. The Bible states in Ephesians 6:12 it reads: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. So, our fight is not against our fellow man, but against the devil and all of his demons of darkness and dark forces. This is not just in movies but in almost everything.
Some Movies, Although They Have Violence in Them Provide Good Lessons
Not all movies are that bad. For instance the movie Soulfood was not really about food, although this is what brought everyone together. It was based on a deeper lever. It was more each individual of the family learning the lessons of life that they had to go through. Lessons and trials that shaped their character and forced them to grow in spiritual ways. They had their share of troubles, each one of them; Most stemming from childhood and some from the later years of life.
The mom who they referred to as Big Momma was the glue that held them all together. She understood that soul food is the key of life. Big Momma, on her deathbed, with the help of her grandson, managed to finally get them all together at the last meal; after they all went through their issues and were barely speaking to one another. He finagled them into one more meal together. And this is where they laid it on the line and released their negativities and dark strongholds. It wasn’t until they had all made up and forgave each other that they received the blessing that would solve the dilemma they had looming over their heads.

This particular movie is based on the radio and how it was used to spread evil and negativity. It also depicted a young man and his wife who frequented the movies. The main character used to go with him and had stopped once he learned the truth. That soul food is the key of life. It began when he had heard this pastor from Africa preach about the negative impacts the media has on our lives because of what it is feeding into our souls. This had deeply resonated with him.
So, after hearing this preacher he was determined to change his life for the better. He had stopped doing the things that he realized were not good for him spiritually. He tried to get permission to put his message out through the radio station but he kept hitting roadblocks. In the end, after so many attempts, he had finally managed to get God’s message out through the airwaves. To let people know that soul food is the key of life.
Soul Food is the Key of Life, My Epiphany After I Prayed to God for Answers
I, as well, had this epiphany. Quite some years ago, in my mid twenties, I had prayed to my Lord to show me the real truth. I had so many questions about the things I learned in Sunday school as well as things I read in the Bible. Then I learned about the lost books of the Bible as well as books that were removed from the Bible, which they call The Apocrypha. All these questions were scrolling in my mind and I just couldn’t find the answers.
Therefore, I decided to go to the Source for my answers. I prayed to God to show me the real truth. And since then, little by little, he started to reveal things to me over the years. Now mind you this was not all in a matter of days or even weeks. I also began to read my Bible more often to properly feed my soul. As the saying goes: “You are what you eat” So eat the Word, it is good for you. It took quite some time for me to learn all the things I know today, and I am still learning.
Yes, Jesus Does Answer Prayer and Soul Food is the Key of Life
When they say the Lord works in mysterious ways, Yes he does. Because these revelations came from different sources and people. And not just one source but multiple ones. When you get something from the Lord he always has someone or something else to give you confirmation.
As I learned from these different revelations, I began to change my life accordingly to become a better version of myself. Which gave me the reason to believe that soul food is the key of life. I remember one day when I learned about Jesus and the picture of the horrible person portrayed to be Jesus, I felt so hurt, horrible and utterly betrayed, I fell to my knees with tears in my eyes, praying and asking the Lord to forgive me for not knowing.
It was then when I realized that we were taught lies, which is a trick of the devil to fool the whole world. This is why it tells us in the Bible to study to show thyself approved unto the Lord. I thought I was doing right and living right for GOD, but as I learned these truths, I realized there were a lot of things I was doing wrong. I am so very thankful to my Lord for revealing the truth to me. And his truth will forever stand.

My husband often says: “We can sing a lie faster than we can tell one.” And what he meant by that is we sing all these songs and know all the words to them, but rarely do we really listen to the lyrics to understand the true meaning of the words. Words play a profound importance to our souls. When we don’t pay attention to what we are singing, only because we like the beat or the melody better, we are damaging our souls because we are singing a lie.
It may be true for the song artist but not for us. And the same is true for gospel songs. What I found out about the music industry was very disturbing to me. I was told that when a master record is produced, the record mold is taken into a room where they perform evil satanic rituals over it.

Oh my goodness. These video games are negatively influencing our children. The violence is out of control. Sadly enough, we let these video games be our babysitters. As long as we can put something on to keep them occupied then we are good. Not so! This is causing more damage to our children than you can imagine. Children like to mimic what they see. Therefore, when they see a lot of violence. Not only do they believe that it is OK or normal. But they also begin to live their lives in the same manner.

This is done so when the albums or records are run, and then purchased, the listeners are negatively affected by it because of the evil and darkness that was performed on it. This is wicked and evil. The same goes for when they play certain songs over the air waves on the radio or the movies. The frequencies they use in the music creates a certain mood or suggestion. And this is how they sell so many albums, CD’s or now Tracks. These frequencies are used to control the masses.
If you take a serious step back and look at the fairy tales and cartoons you will notice that they really are not for children. They are full of violence, witchcraft and evil; Especially the Walt Disney fairytales. There is always an evil queen plotting the murder of an innocent one. Almost all of them have witchcraft or magic, which is another form of witchcraft, in them. And what do we do? We feed all of this to our sweet little innocent children, and then wonder why they turn out so bad. We did it to them. Don’t get me wrong, I am also guilty of this because I did it too.
I had the whole collection of Walt Disney movies. They fool us by putting the innocence up front and disguising the evil within. The same goes for cartoons. They make them so funny that while we are so busy laughing our souls are being damaged because we are downloading this evil junk into them. We all are victims of this. Sadly, I learned this all too late, after I had unwittingly downloaded so much. However, you can fix this, but it will take a great deal of dedication and tenacity. You also must have strong faith, willpower, and the love of God in your heart to want to do what is right in the eyes of our Lord.
How to Guard Your Soul Against Negativity We Need to Take in More Positivity
It is very important that we stand up for the Lord and ourselves and say enough is enough! We have to take control of our lives back. And by this I mean we have to stop looking at and listening to this garbage. Let’s clean out our hard drive. We need to pray and ask God to cleanse our souls. Ask for forgiveness of our sins and sinful acts (known and unknown).
Then we need to continually feed our souls with goodness and positivity, the word of GOD. In Hosea 4:6 it reads: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Get Baptized and Read the Bible Because Soul Food Really Is the Key of Life
It also reads in 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. We must clean up our act and start living for Christ and serve him. We start first by believing in GOD and his son Jesus Christ. That GOD sent his only begotten son to give his life for us and to be resurrected on the third day. And rose again to be ascended unto the Father.
Second, we need to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ to cleanse our souls and open our hearts to receive the gift of salvation. Third, we need to start feeding our souls, as well as our children, the proper soul food on a continual basis. And last, we must keep the faith and forge on as Christian soldiers fighting against the principles of darkness and wickedness in high places. Our fight is not against man but against the dark and evil powers. If we constantly feed our souls the word of GOD and live by it, then we have a fighting chance. The battle is not ours, but the LORD’s. And we must stay strong and keep the faith and continually trust in GOD.
